Full Schedule

Mr. Hoo has been playing shows for families with his band The Alphabeticians and as a solo act since 2010.  PDX Parent says about his shows, "Mr. Hoo plays acoustic guitar throughout the show and throws in some kazoo for many of the songs, which is always an attention getter with the kids! The songs are energetic and kids can get up and dance or sing along." And "At the show I am always impressed at how Mr. Hoo is so welcoming to kids joining in on the show . . . and has never objected when kids get on stage to join in on the performance."

Check out some videos of his shows  and find out more about some of the venues he performs at regularly below.  And look over there for his full schedule.

Venues

These are just some of the venues Mr. Hoo performs at. They all have 2 things in common:  they are amazing places for kids and their grown-ups to explore and they are all locally owned and family run businesses.  And they're all awesome! I guess that's 3 things!

The Wiggle Room is an award winning indoor playground in NE Portland designed by a pediatric occupational therapist.  It's open to the public during the week, and available for birthday parties on weekends (and guess Hoo is available to perform at your birthday party?).  Mr. Hoo performs here every 1st and 3rd Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.  Show is included with regular admission.

Pilea Play is like a mini version of the old Children's Museum.  It "is a place for coming together, exploring new materials, making new connections, snapping ideas together, and asking yourself:  What else could it be?"  They have open play, classes, birthday parties (and guess Hoo is available to perform at your birthday party?) and more.  Mr. Hoo performs here 1st Fridays at 4:30 p.m. and 3rd Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.

Taborspace is a community space run by the Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church. They have a great community room, coffee house run by Favela Brazilian Cafe and lots of great music (including Mr. Hoo's pals Mr. Ben and Red Yarn). Mr. Hoo performs in the sanctuary every Friday at 10 a.m. $10 - $20 suggested donation per family.

Mr. Hoo is part of their Music Monday series, along with Kelli Welli, Music Quest and Papa Steve. You can also catch Zazzy Zoe and Olive & Dingo and more. Mr. Hoo is there every first Monday at 10:30 a.m. $5 per person suggested donation
